Leadership Accomplishments

LJ has been a leader in voting against numerous wasteful spending measures, including expanding the number of employees in the Mayor’s office to nearly double its size.

LJ is a Jonesboro City Council member, where he has served for the past 7 years. He has held positions of leadership on the Finance Committee, Public Services Committee, Public Works Committee, Nominating and Rules Committee, and Stormwater Drainage Committee.

LJ has been a leader in voting against numerous wasteful spending measures, including expanding the number of employees in the Mayor’s office to nearly double its size.

LJ created a ballot initiative to change half of the City Council to Ward-based and not City-wide only.

LJ was a leader in re-establishing the Downtown Improvement District.

LJ worked with other Council Members to pass a Sidewalk Ordinance for Residential areas, establish Commercial Landscaping Design Standards as well as Multifamily Building Design Standards.

LJ was instrumental in renaming a Jonesboro street.

LJ supported a Diversity Resolution, encouraging the city to be receptive to seeking new prospects for leadership appointments.
